Teams, Drivers & Contracts

Registration ยท teams ยท contracts ยท earnings

Section One: Driver Registration

1.1: Sign-Up

A driver applies through the NRL sign-up page with their console, platform and preferred car number. Staff review each application. An approved driver is placed in a series and division by the Commissioner's Office.

1.2: Driver Profile

Each driver has a profile that shows their car number, team, results, standings, earnings and prestige. Drivers must keep their profile accurate.

1.3: Eligibility

Only an approved driver in good standing may race. A suspended or banned driver is ineligible, and any result a driver earns while ineligible is removed.

1.4: Series Entries

A driver races in the series and division where they are entered. A driver may be entered in more than one series only with staff approval, and then must meet the join deadline in every race.

Section Two: Teams

2.1: Creating a Team

A team is created through an application reviewed by staff. Staff approve the team name, the team color and the Owner. Team names and colors must be original and respectful.

2.2: Team Owners

Each team has an Owner who manages the team page and its drivers, sends contract offers and talks to staff. The Owner is responsible for the team's compliance with this Constitution.

2.3: Team Size

The number of drivers a team may carry in each series and division is set by the Commissioner's Office and published before each season. A team may not carry more drivers than the published limit.

2.4: Team Standings

Teams earn points from the finishes of their drivers and compete in the team championship. A team's prestige is based on the team's race results and on the average prestige of its drivers (Article IV, Section Seven).

2.5: Team Changes

A team may change its name, color or logo only with staff approval, and only between seasons unless staff decide otherwise.

Section Three: Contracts

3.1: Contract Offers

A team Owner offers a contract to a driver through the site. A driver may accept, decline or ignore an offer. An accepted offer is checked by staff and then goes active.

3.2: Contract Terms

A contract records the driver, the team, the series and the term. Staff may set the contract length and other terms before each season.

3.3: Fair Dealing

An Owner may not pressure, threaten or bribe a driver to sign or stay. An Owner may not hold a driver's contract in order to stop the driver from racing, and may not make a contract offer to a driver who is under contract elsewhere without going through staff.

3.4: Ending a Contract

A contract ends when its term runs out, when both sides agree to end it, or when staff end it because of a ban, a quit or a rule violation. Only staff change the status of a contract on the site.

3.5: Driver Moves

A driver who wants to leave a team must tell the Owner and staff. Moves in the middle of a season are limited to the windows that staff publish. Races a driver has already run stay with the team they raced for.

Section Four: Free Agents

4.1: The Free Agent List

Approved drivers who are not on a team are on the free agent list. Owners may view the list and send contract offers to drivers on it.

4.2: Free Agents and Racing

A free agent may race when staff allow it, and earns points and prestige for themselves. A free agent has no team, so no team cut is paid.

4.3: Tampering

An Owner may not contact another team's driver about leaving, or offer a contract to a driver who is under contract, outside the proper process. Tampering is a violation under Article IV.

Section Five: Earnings

5.1: Race Earnings

A driver earns race earnings by finishing position, using the race payout structure (Article II, Section Seven). The team receives 15% and the driver keeps 85%.

5.2: Career Totals

Season and career earnings, wins, top-5 finishes, top-10 finishes and races are added up for each driver and team. Staff correct the totals when a result is corrected.

5.3: Bad-Faith Transactions

A contract, a move or a payout arrangement made to hide earnings, to move money around the system or to get around a league rule is in bad faith. Staff may reverse it and may penalize everyone involved.

Section Six: Promotion, Relegation and Series Moves

6.1: Division Movement

Staff review drivers and teams after each season. A driver or team may be promoted or relegated between Elite, Pro and Amateur divisions under the criteria published before the season (Article I, 2.4).

6.2: Series Movement

A driver may move between the Cup, Xfinity, Truck and ARCA series with staff approval, based on results and prestige. Staff publish the rules for series moves before each season.

6.3: What Moves With You

A promoted or relegated driver keeps their career earnings, wins and records. Their prestige in each series is tracked for that series.

6.4: Mid-Season Moves

Division and series moves in the middle of a season are allowed only when staff approve them and only for a clear reason, such as a team that leaves the league. Moves are never used to avoid a penalty.

6.5: Appeals

A driver or team may appeal a promotion or relegation decision to the Commissioner's Office within 7 days, as set out in Article IV, Section Two.

6.6: Retirement

A driver may retire. A retired driver leaves their team and the standings, and keeps career records. A retired driver may return in a later season through the normal sign-up route, unless banned.
