CHL TRYOUT RULES

The CHL Tryout System allows unrostered free agents to formally request tryouts with teams in the league. It gives GMs a structured way to evaluate new players before offering a contract, and ensures every player gets a fair shot regardless of which team they approach.

All tryouts are governed by the rules on this page. By submitting a tryout request, you agree to these rules in full.

• You must have an approved league account on AllPlatformLeagues.com.
• You must be a free agent — players currently signed to a team cannot submit a tryout request.
• Signed players are permanently blocked from submitting new tryout requests until they are released and become a free agent again.
• You may only have one active tryout request at a time.
• After a tryout expires or is closed, you must wait 48 hours before submitting a new request.

Every tryout request is open for exactly 48 hours from the moment it is submitted. This is the window during which GMs can review your profile, submit scouting reports, and make a decision.

• The 48-hour countdown starts immediately when you click Submit — not when a GM views it.
• After 48 hours, the tryout automatically closes and expires regardless of whether all teams responded.
• If your tryout expires with no offer, you must wait an additional 48 hours before submitting a new request.
• The time remaining on your tryout is displayed on your profile and on the Scouting Hub.

When submitting a tryout request you have two options:

• All Teams — Your request is sent to every active team in your division. Any GM may scout you and make an offer during the 48-hour window.
• Select up to 3 Teams — You choose exactly which teams you want to try out for. These are the only 3 teams that can make you an offer during this session. Choose carefully.

Each GM of a team you tried out for can make one of two decisions on their end:

• Interested — The GM wants to sign you or continue evaluating. Your tryout stays open on their end and they may reach out via the forum.
• No Thanks — The GM has decided not to pursue you this session. Their team slot closes immediately.

Key rules around GM decisions:

• A GM's decision only affects their own team's slot. If you tried out for 3 teams and 1 GM says No Thanks, your tryout remains active for the other 2 teams.
• If all teams say No Thanks before the 48-hour window ends, your tryout closes early with status "All Closed."
• GMs cannot close another team's tryout slot — only their own.
• For All Teams tryouts, individual GMs can still close their own slot — but the tryout remains open to all other teams.
• GMs should use the scouting report system to formally grade and note players. Notes are visible to all GMs in the league.

Players may reapply for tryouts after their request expires or is rejected, subject to the following rules:

• You must wait 48 hours after your last tryout ended (expired, all closed, or withdrawn) before submitting a new one.
• There is no limit to how many times you can reapply — as long as you wait the required 48 hours between attempts.
• When reapplying, GM notes and scouting reports from previous tryouts are still visible to all GMs. Use the reapply period to improve and request another tryout when ready.
• Reapplication decisions should be based on GM notes. If multiple GMs noted specific weaknesses, address those before reapplying.

1. Player submits a league application via the Join League page and is approved by Admin
2. Player visits the Tryouts page — their profile auto-fills from their registration
3. Player selects All Teams or picks up to 3 specific teams — selection is locked on submit
4. The 48-hour countdown begins. GMs of selected teams are notified on Discord and the site
5. GMs visit the Scouting Hub, view the player's full profile and submit a scouting report with skill grades and notes
6. GMs mark their decision — Interested or No Thanks — on their team's slot
7. If a GM is interested, they contact the player via the forum to discuss a contract offer
8. If an offer is accepted, Admin approves and the player is signed to the roster — tryout closes permanently
9. If no offer comes, the tryout expires after 48 hours. Player waits 48 hours then may reapply

All players in the tryout period are representing themselves to every GM in the league. Your conduct during this period directly affects whether teams want to sign you. These rules apply from the moment your tryout is submitted until it closes.

• GMs are expected to review tryout requests within 24 hours of notification.
• GMs must submit a scouting report before marking a player as Interested or No Thanks.
• Scouting report notes must be honest, fair and constructive. Personal attacks in notes are a conduct violation for the GM.
• GMs cannot ignore tryout requests without making a decision. Unresponded tryouts count against a GM's activity rating.
• A GM who consistently ignores tryout requests may have their GM role reviewed by Admin.
• GMs must not share scouting notes outside the Scouting Hub to gain competitive advantage. Notes are shared league-wide for fairness.

If you believe a tryout was handled unfairly — a GM acted in bad faith, notes were defamatory, or rules were violated — you may appeal to a League Admin.

• Post your dispute in the Disputes section of the AllPlatformLeagues.com forum within 24 hours of the incident.
• Include screenshots or evidence where possible.
• A League Admin will review and respond within 48 hours.
• Admin decisions on tryout disputes are final.
• False or frivolous dispute reports are a conduct violation.
