Club Basketball League · Official Rules & Regulations · 2026
The Pro Division is the middle tier of the Club Basketball League. It is the proving ground for players and teams aiming to reach Elite, and a step up from the Amateur Division.
Pro Division games follow all general league rules. GMs have more flexibility in roster construction and strategy compared to Amateur, but are held to higher conduct standards.
At the end of each Pro Division season, the top 2 teams are promoted to the Elite Division for the following season.
The bottom 2 teams in the Pro Division are relegated to the Amateur Division.
Teams finishing in positions 3 through the bottom-2 threshold remain in the Pro Division for the following season.
The top 4 teams in the Pro Division qualify for the end-of-season playoffs. All playoff series are best-of-3.
The Pro Division champion earns an automatic promotion spot to Elite in addition to the standard top-2 promotion spots, meaning up to 3 teams may be promoted in a season where the champion finishes outside the top 2 (rare but possible).
Pro teams must maintain a minimum of 7 active players. Teams that fall below this threshold have 72 hours to sign from free agency before a penalty is issued.
There is no maximum roster size, but salary cap rules apply. Over-the-cap teams will be penalized regardless of division.
