Section 1: 📖 Introduction and Authority

1.1Purpose of this rulebook

This is the official rulebook for every EA SPORTS FC league on AllPlatformLeagues.com: the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and MLS divisions, and the tournaments played between them (the FIFA World Cup and the Club World Cup).

All leagues are 11 versus 11. Each real-world club is a franchise run by a human General Manager (GM). Human members sign for one club and play one position.

By joining a club or signing up on the site you agree to follow every rule here. Not knowing a rule is not a defence.

1.2How the rules are built

The rulebook has three layers, and each is stronger than the one below it:

  • The league rules in this book (line-ups, goalies, cap, contracts, results, discipline, tournaments).
  • The Laws of the Game in Section 12, which follow the official football laws as far as EA SPORTS FC applies them.
  • What the game itself allows. If the game lets you do something, that does not make it legal. If a league rule forbids it, the league rule wins.

1.3Staff authority and final decisions

League staff (Super Admins and FC league admins) run the leagues. Staff can schedule matches, set deadlines, confirm or change results, switch goalies on or off, add or remove clubs, suspend players and settle disputes.

A decision made by staff in line with this rulebook is final for that matter unless it is appealed under Section 21. Every staff action is recorded in the audit log with who did it and when.

1.4Changing the rules

Staff may change, add or remove rules at any time. Every change is written to the rulebook change log, which anyone can read at the bottom of the rules page.

A change to a rule that affects an unfinished season applies from the next matchday unless staff say otherwise. A change never cancels a result that was already confirmed.

1.5Situations the rules do not cover

When something happens that no rule covers, staff decide using three questions in this order: What does the nearest rule say? What would the Laws of the Game do? What is fairest to both clubs? The decision is then written into the rulebook so the next case is covered.

1.6Spirit of the league

These leagues exist so people can play real, competitive, enjoyable football with each other. Play hard, win fairly, lose well and help the league run smoothly. Where a rule is silent, act in that spirit.

Section 2: 👤 Membership and Eligibility

2.1Who can play

Anyone with a forum account on AllPlatformLeagues.com can join as a player. You must own EA SPORTS FC on the platform you list on your profile (PS5, Xbox or PC) and be able to play matches online.

2.2One person, one account, one club

  • You may have one player profile, one gamertag and one forum account. Running two accounts is a bannable offence.
  • You may be signed to one club at a time and may play one position for that club (plus up to three secondary positions your GM can use you in).
  • A gamertag must be the one you actually use in game. Changing it requires staff approval so results can be matched to players.

2.3Profile accuracy

Your player profile must be truthful: platform, primary position, secondary positions and your EA account details. Staff can ask you to confirm your EA account. A profile that is found to be false can be corrected by staff, and repeated false information is a conduct offence.

2.4Player status

Every player has one status at any time:

  • Active: signed to a club and available. Only active players can be picked in a line-up.
  • Free agent: not signed to a club. Free agents can receive contract offers.
  • Suspended: serving a ban or suspension. Cannot be picked.
  • Injured / Leave of absence: marked by staff as unavailable. Cannot be picked.
  • Retired / Banned: no longer in the league.

2.5Moving between leagues

A player belongs to the league of the club he is signed to. To move to a club in a different league he must first become a free agent (contract ends or is released) and then accept an offer from that club. Free agents can state which league they prefer.

2.6Minimum conduct to stay

Members must read this rulebook, keep their contact details on the forum current, check their offers and messages, and answer staff when asked. Members who ignore staff may be set to inactive.

Section 3: 🏟️ Clubs, GMs and AGMs

3.1What a club is

A club is one real-world football club inside one league, for example Arsenal in the Premier League. Clubs are real names but are run by league members. Playing for a club in this league has no connection to the real club.

3.2The General Manager

Each club may have one GM and any number of Assistant GMs (AGMs). Staff assign and remove GMs and AGMs. A GM can:

  • Offer contracts to free agents and manage the cap.
  • Release players.
  • Set the formation and the line-up for each matchday.
  • Report match results and confirm results reported by the opposing GM.
  • Sign the club up for tournaments.

An AGM has the same powers as the GM. The GM is responsible for everything an AGM does.

3.3GM responsibilities

A GM must keep the club active: set line-ups before the deadline, report results on time, answer contract offers and messages and keep the roster inside the rules. A club with no active GM may be run by staff until a new GM is appointed.

3.4Replacing a GM

A GM who wants to step down tells staff, who will appoint a new GM or promote an AGM. A GM who is inactive, absent for matches without notice or breaks the rules may be removed by staff. A removed GM is not automatically removed from the club as a player.

3.5Clubs without a GM

Players on a club with no GM stay signed to that club. Until a GM is appointed, staff can set that club's line-ups and confirm its results. Open clubs are shown with an Open label.

3.6Conflicts of interest

A GM or staff member who is also a player must follow the same rules as everyone else. Staff may not rule on a dispute involving their own club. Another staff member decides instead.

Section 4: 🛠️ Staff and Administration

24.1Staff roles

Super Admins have full control of the site. FC league admins can run every FC league. Staff are set in Super Admin and every action they take is recorded.

24.2What the audit log records

The audit log records who did what and when: results confirmed or changed, line-ups submitted, contracts signed and released, goalie switches, tournament actions, sanctions and rulebook changes.

24.3Neutrality

Staff apply the rules the same way to every club. A staff member does not decide a matter involving his own club, his friends or anyone he has a conflict with.

24.4Announcements

Staff announce rule changes, goalie switches, deadlines and tournament dates on the forum.

24.5Season administration

Staff schedule the season, set the current matchday and line-up deadlines, run the season rollover and keep the player pool and club list correct.

24.6Data and privacy

The leagues keep gamertags, platform details, results and contract records. Staff must not share private messages or personal information of members except as needed to settle a dispute or by law.

24.7Questions

Questions about the rules go to staff on the forum. If a question shows the rules are unclear, staff may rewrite the rule.
